Our Commitment
e-Cities is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually work to improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards across our platform.
Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
What We Do
We have taken the following steps to ensure accessibility across e-Cities:
- Keyboard navigation: all interactive elements on our platform are accessible via keyboard. Users can navigate through pages, forms, and controls using the Tab, Enter, and arrow keys.
- Screen reader support: we use semantic HTML elements, ARIA labels, and meaningful alt text for images so that screen readers can accurately convey page content and structure.
- Colour contrast: text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text) to ensure readability for users with low vision or colour deficiencies.
- Responsive design: our platform adapts to various screen sizes and orientations, and supports text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Form labels: all form inputs include visible labels and, where appropriate, descriptive placeholder text and error messages to guide users through interactions.
- Focus indicators: visible focus indicators are provided on interactive elements so keyboard users can track their position on the page.
- Skip links: skip navigation links are provided to allow keyboard users to bypass repetitive content and jump directly to the main content area.
- Touch targets: interactive elements such as buttons and links have a minimum touch target size of 44 by 44 pixels to accommodate users with motor impairments.

Third-Party Content

If you encounter an accessibility issue with third-party content on our platform, please let us know so we can work with the content provider to address it.
Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly review our platform against current accessibility standards, conduct testing with assistive technologies, and incorporate accessibility into our development process. Our goal is to provide an inclusive experience for all users of e-Cities.
